Do you ever feel like your life is just one big non stop event of rushing from one task to the next and never really being in each moment but simply doing what has to be done?
I know I have - It feels as though I have spent most of my life doing just that, up until the past few years that is. You see, we all put so much pressure on ourselves to be everything to everyone and in the process, we bypass what we need to be Happy, Healthy and Whole.
You can change this habit of people pleasing, of spreading yourself too thin and running yourself into the ground. It all begins by stopping just for a moment, taking a breath and saying to yourself "I am worth it!" We've all heard the saying " life wasn't meant to be easy!"...Wasn't it?? I truly believe we have all been brainwashed into thinking that if things are easy you're not doing enough and that unless you're working tirelessly around the clock then you're a failure in the eyes of Society. None of this is true. It's really important to have goals and to achieve as much as you can in life - of course, however there is a way of doing that without creating havoc within yourself in the process. We all need to create healthy boundaries and make self-care a priority. If you're not taking care of yourself then you can't effectively care for others. It is NEVER selfish to look after yourself and to take some time out. You are here to learn lessons, to evolve and to experience "JOY".
Self-care is completely individual and based on what you love to do - what lights you up? It could be going to the gym, walking along the beach, meeting up with friends, seeing a movie, getting a massage, a weekend away, being creative or anything that gives you a break from the onslaught of daily activities that we humans are bombarded with. Now, I realise that these things aren't always possible every single day so what you can do each day which will help you feel more present and better able to cope is something called 'GROUNDING'. This is simply sitting or standing and imagining that you are fully connected to the Earth. The simplest way to achieve this is to imagine tree roots growing from the soles of your feet, going deep down into the earth below until you feel firmly connected to the ground beneath you. It is very easy to do, can be done anywhere and only takes a minute or so of your time. You will notice that it makes a difference to how you feel immediately. You can also listen to a GROUNDING MEDITATION if you prefer. You will feel more in control throughout your day and not have the scattered feeling we have all experienced at one time or another, which is due to your energy being left in the various places you have been rushing to and from. Do this daily and you won't feel so frazzled and overwhelmed. Meditation is also wonderful and I highly recommend incorporating it into your life. Remember that you are the most important person in your world and you deserve to take care of yourself - Your Mind, Your Body & Your Spirit. If you are interested in learning to Meditate, I provide In person or Online Meditation Sessions. Meditation is a life changer and I highly recommend giving it a go and incorporating it into your life. Even 5 Minutes a day will make a huge difference. Meditating allows you to access your inner wisdom as well as relaxing and healing you. It has a myriad of benefits for Mind, Body & Spirit.
